My name is Mehmet Nail NASIR. I was born in istanbul, Turkey. I studied in the Saint Michel French High School in Istanbul. I obtained my bachelor degree in biochemistry from University of Lyon, in France. I obtained a master degree in biochemistry from University of Lyon where I worked on the interactions of antimicrobial compounds with membranes . I continued my education by going to « Institut de Chimie et Biochimie Moléculaire et Supramoléculaire » within the University of Lyon where I received my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Françoise Besson. During my PhD, I worked on antimicrobial lipopeptides in order to elucidate their mechanisms of action at the molecular level. After my PhD, I moved to Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liege, in Belgium for my postdoc project for which I worked with Dr. Magali Deleu, Dr.Laurence Lins and Dr.Marc Ongena on different class of molecules such as glycolipids and peptides which are able to promote defense mechanisms in plants. I am currently research scientist and the scientific coordinator of the FIELD (Finding Interesting Elicitor LipiDs) project at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, University of Liege where I am working with Prof. Marie-Laure Fauconnier, Dr. Magali Deleu, Dr.Laurence Lins and Dr.Marc Ongena. My research involves the interactions between biomolecules and membranes at the molecular level.
